Hi and thanks for checking out our church’s website! We are glad to have a revamped online presence and pray that it is useful to people in Newmarket, York Region, and beyond. Stated most succinctly, our mission is to worship God and to evangelize people. The theme verse that we have for 2017 summarizes that calling and roots our identity in Scripture, Isaiah 55:6, “Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near.” We understand worship not just as a Sunday activity, but the calling of our lives, which is energized and guided by Sunday services. Evangelism flows from worship – as we praise God, hearts and lives would seek to spread that praise and glory however we can. Will you not join us in these high callings for your life and the short opportunity we are given to live for God?

March 26, 2018 at 12:30 pmHello Pastor Overbeek. We live in Toronto and have been studying Corinthians. We read that as women we should cover our heads during the formal gathering of saints. Is this one of your teachings? Seconds, we read that women are to be silent, not to teach the man during church services. Do you believe that Jesus has given the role of a pastor to women or is this a role assigned to men? Third, do you also teach the gifts of the Spirit, such as spiritual tongues, healings, etc that brother Paul writes about? Paul explains that all is to be done orderly in the church and to only speak in spiritual tongues if someone has the gift of interpretation in the church. Do you teach this in your church? These are our 3 questions that have evolved from our women’s bible study. We look forward to your response. Sincerely, Sherron and Family
